It was built from conversations — with nurses who felt invisible, underappreciated, and tired of wearing things that said nothing about who they really are.

We asked one question and never stopped asking it: "Would a real nurse wear this and feel seen?"

If the answer was no, we started over.

Once upon a time...

I work in healthcare. Not as a nurse — but close enough, for long enough, to watch what the job actually asks of the people who do it.

I've seen the calm someone keeps in a room that's falling apart. I've seen the after — the parking lot, the silence on the drive home, the next shift starting like nothing happened. I've watched nurses get called heroes by people who've never once had to decide who gets seen first.

I'm not a nurse. I'm someone who's stood close enough to one to know better than to put "hero" on a shirt and call it appreciation.

YOUSTOMIZE started as an honest attempt to make something that actually matches what I'd seen — not what a gift shop assumes nurses want.
